This volume contains the exegesis of two complete surahs, that is, al-Anbiyāʾ (The Prophets) (112 verses) and al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage) (78 verses).
The significant discussion of this volume concerns the meaning of necessity of Action and its propriety and impropriety in relation to God. This issue is discussed from a rational point of view. There is another discussion about the eternity of the Book of God, that is, the Qur’an. The various aspects of this issue are taken into consideration with an emphasis on the traditions.
At the end of the volume, there is philosophical discussion about Divine Wisdom. This discussion is based on the Qur’anic verses and ʿAllāmah Ṭabāṭabāʾī has treated this subject with great insight.
